Company of Cyclists was founded in 2000, and is run by enthusiastic creative professionals with decades of high-level business experience. We meet a need for new, creative ways of promoting cycling in practical face-to-face situations; through local authorities, public health agencies, businesses, schools and universities. It has been hugely successful. We operate three mobile units, serving a growing number of clients, and are moving more towards supporting clients who wish to do it for themselves. Our staff have a very wide range of specialisms, to match the diversity of our client base: from corporate businesses to youth inclusion, from cycle training to cycle design, from zero-emission distribution and delivery work to schools roadshows. We have proven success in all of these and more.

How do we manage all this? We are very much a social enterprise company. We are backed by 190 cyclist supporter-shareholders and financed by fees from our 120 or so clients. This has allowed us to grow consistently, putting increased activity levels above profit. We do make a small profit, but have, ever since we began, ploughed profit back into the development of our services. This has allowed us to grow at a creditable 20% per year, which mean 20% more cycle promotion. We have an extremely sound financial base.
